Me and My Boys

Hi I’m Katherine! and I created this blog for busy stay at home moms striving to find the time and energy to do it all. This site is for those wonder women who struggle to juggle little ones while trying to hold onto their sanity. Do you find yourself trying to find time to cook, clean, sew, plan meals and do the laundry? Are you struggling to make time to pray, read your bible, maintain your marriage and keep little hands busy? Then this is the place for you!

Why Should YOU Read This Blog You May Ask?

If your a busy mom like me and don’t have much time on your hands then you’ll benefit from my helpful posts. Do you need a easy recipe for that mystery meat your husband brought home? Or maybe a quick activity for your toddler so you can finish dinner?

I want to help you get things done quickly and easily. When I come across something that will make our lives easier I can’t help but share it!

Why Homemaking By Design?

I may post about kid activities, parenting, marriage, recipes and projects but I also talk about my faith. Homemaking is what God has called me to do.  I believe that it is by Gods Design that I’m in the position of a homemaker. I strive to serve him by serving others (my family, friends and YOU!).

Homemaking by design is more than acknowledging the position we play in our homes, but also seeking out what it means to be a Godly wife, mother and homemaker. My ultimate goal is to simply encourage you to be a Godly homemaker. A Homemaker by His design.

Why I Started This Blog

As a wife and stay at home mama of three boys I know personally the struggles of parenting while trying to maintain my house and marriage. There have been many times I wished a mom starting out like me would write about how she does it all, even if she is still figuring it out herself.

So in 2014 I decided that I would create the blog I had been looking for. I love to write about my experiences in parenting, marriage and homemaking. So I can pass along the tips I learn to other young moms. As moms we can all learn from each other and exchange ideas and gain wisdom.

By no means do I have it all together. So when I learn something that makes my life easier as a mom, wife or homemaker I want to pass that information along to YOU!

After two years of researching, planning and learning how to operate, organize and set up a website I am excited to launch this humble little blog and start sharing what I learn with others. I’m inspired by all the wonderful bloggers out there. And I am thrilled to be a part of an amazing community of mothers sharing what they have learned.

About Me - Homemaking by Design - Family From Left: Ephrome, my Husband Josh, Ambrose, Me and Harland)

About Me:

My husband Joshua and I have been married for 3 years and have 3 boys, Harland, Ephrome and Ambrose. It’s pretty crazy around our house with 3 kids under 3 years. Together we bought our first home in April of 2015 and reside in the extremely sunny city of Phoenix.

I Praise God and am very thankful that he died on the cross for me. I’m grateful that I can easily come to him anytime through prayer and that I can freely read my bible and understand his purpose for me in this world.

I truly enjoy going to church and my favorite part is our song service and hearing my church family sing praises to God together. My husband is the youth pastor at our church and we both enjoy working with the teens in our Sunday School Class and helping them grow spiritually.

Since 2013 I have been a stay at home mom and have enjoyed managing our home and raising our boys. I adore my husband and believe God brought us together because I truly couldn’t have picked a better spouse for myself.

One of the things I love about my older son is that he has his daddy’s dimples. And my younger son has his stunning blue eyes. Some facts about me: I hate laundry, mayo, teething toddlers, Falafel (yuck) and changing diapers. I LOVE making lists, baking cookies, sewing my own clothes, painting ugly furniture and treasure hunting at my local thrift store. My favorite food is a toss up between Pad Thai and Hot Cheetos (if those count as food).
